Record Breaking Sexual Abuse Settlement

The London Ontario law firm of Ledroit Beckett Litigation Lawyers will be holding a Press Conference on:

Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., at the office of Ledroit Beckett Litigation Lawyers, 630 Richmond Street, London, Ontairo

Announced will be the recent settlement of the civil lawsuit involving Lou Ann Soontiens and the Roman Catholic Diocese of London for the sexual abuse inflicted upon her by Father Charles Sylvestre.

After five years of childhood sexual abuse, a related abortion and decades of living with the effects of abuse, Lou Ann has finally received her full measure of justice. Though Lou Ann obtained a criminal conviction against Sylvestre in 2006, since that time she has been engaged in a civil lawsuit.

After three years and only days from the commencement of her May 11, 2009 trial it all came to a sudden end with what can only be described asĀ
the largest settlement of an individual sexual abuse case in Canadian history.

Lou Ann invites the media to hear her story and her struggle for justice. Details of the settlement will be available at the Press Conference.
