Robert works in the personal injury, professional malpractice groups and is also committed to representing victims of sexual abuse. He was co-counsel with Paul Ledroit in the ground-breaking J.R.S. v. Glendinning case and since then has represented 100s of victims of sexual abuse. He is a member of the group of lawyers from Ledroit Beckett who was approved by the Provincial government to act on behalf of the Victims Group at The Cornwall Public Inquiry which is examining the institutional responses to allegations of sexual abuse of young persons in Cornwall.

Robert has made submissions to the McMurtry Victim Compensation Review, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and is an annual guest speaker at the Canadian Institute’s Summit on Institutional Liability for Sexual Assault and Abuse. He also sits on various boards and helps to raise both awareness and funds for survivors of abuse.

Born and raised in the Chatham area, Robert obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and then attended the University of Windsor. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 2000. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002 and then joined Ledroit Beckett.

Outside of the practice of law, Robert has served our Country as a Canadian Armed Forces Reservist since 1988 and was part of the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Bosnia between 1994 – 1995. He is a long distance runner and kayaker.
